Strawberry Chia Jam (V+) (GF)

  • 2 punnets (500g/1lb) strawberries
  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tbsp of rice malt syrup or honey


  1. Cut up strawberries and place in a saucepan with honey (or rice malt syrup), and a small amount (2 tbsp) of water on a low heat
  2. While the strawberries are cooking place 1/2 cup of chia seeds in 1 cup of water and allow them to soak until they are a jelly-like texture
  3. Once the strawberries have been cooking for 10-15 minutes they should be very soft. Place them in a bowl and mash them up with a fork
  4. Back to the bowl of chia seeds, strain out any excess water
  5. Add chia seeds to strawberries, combine well
  6. Store in the fridge
