Oh, where to start!? Firstly, it’s been absolutely wonderful working with Rachel in the past year. I’ve started with her 12 week program, and then extended for another 3 months just to get some additional hand holding whilst I consolidated my newfound habits, that Rachel helped me build.

Being vegan & also living a very busy lifestyle, I was very happy that Rachel adjusted the entire training & food program to my personal needs. She was very knowledgeable with regards to vegan nutrition and approached our work together from a completely non-judgmental mindset, which I was very happy to come across.

When we started our 12 week program, I was first worried how the time difference would affect our communication (her being located in Australia and myself in the UK), but I was pleased to find that it fit perfectly into my busy diary and Rachel and me stuck to having morning & evening chats.

One of my primary reasons why I decided to work with Rachel instead of a local nutritionist/PT/mindset coach was her extensive knowledge around female hormones. Currently going through POF/POI (Early Menopause) I really wanted to work with someone that’s had a lot of experience with hormonal conditions and working on this with Rachel has been absolutely fantastic. From the beginning, she adjusted my macro split to accomodate my hormonal imbalances and I’ve started feeling better and more balanced after just two weeks of working with her.

Making healthy habits stick has always been a difficulty for me, but with having Rachel as my accountability partner, it suddenly felt so much easier.

Based around my work schedule Rachel scheduled both gym & home workout days and provided me with plenty of workout plans that kept my workouts interested and not too repetitive. I especially enjoyed the early morning cardio sessions, which made me get up and leave the house early for a little walk or bike ride and left me feeling energetic and elevated for the rest of the day.

Throughout the program my cardio health has slowly build up and 4 months into my new habits I even managed to run my first 5k - which was a huge win for me, considering I had always detested any form of cardio, especially running. Feeling that I’m getting better and making progress put so much more fun into the process for me that I now voluntarily get out of my way to go for a run ;)

My primary aim for the program was to feel healthier and fitter and lose some weight in the process. Considering my BMI was at 31 before we started and not being a pro athlete with lots of muscle mass, I felt that I simply hit a spot that made me realise that I needed to make a long-term change to maintain my muscle and bone health and improve my overall wellbeing.

With Rachel I have learned how to calculate my own caloric needs & how to divide them for my body and health type (considering my POF) and also how to adjust them to lose, maintain or increase weight. At the end of the 6 months we’ve worked together I had lost 13kg (that’s more than 2 stone for those British folks out there! ;)) and I have since managed to keep the weight down without obsessing over calorie counting and feel that I’ve finally managed a great balance with food and workouts that feels natural and sustainable to me.

Throughout the entire program I felt wonderfully supported by Rachel and through our time working together I’ve learned a lot about building new habits and how to keep myself accountable - and even started to enjoy working out, something that I had never experienced before! The wonderful chats with Rachel kept me on track and motivated to stick to my new formed habits - and we also had plenty of good laughs!

Overall I’m eternally grateful - to myself for having made the decision to invest in my own wellbeing - and to Rachel for being such an amazing, positive and inspiring person to work with!
