Five years ago I've returned to my country of origin (Greece), after 10 years being abroad. Little did I know that that change would affect all aspects including my health and my connection to my body.

I had to face overwhelming situations linked to unemployment, excessive stress and depression that led to a progressive weight gain of a total 25kg.

Despite medication and having seen various health care professionals, my situation was mostly stagnant, reflecting my actual life conditions.

When I've decided to reach out to the EatRunLift program, I was already tired physically and mentally from the longtime, yet inefficient effort and I knew that I had to make some serious changes on my lifestyle.

The reasons why I chose to work with Rachel, after an excessive online research, were many. First of all I never felt ashamed of the way that I looked or the numbers that I was providing considering my progress. She embraced my goal which was to reconnect with my body, despite my hormonal issues.

Second, she is a great professional and she loves what she does. She showed the kind of empathy that I expected and she always had some alternative to propose when change was required in a meal plan (despite being vegan) or in exercise.

She provided answers to all my questions and practically "armed" me with knowledge  that will make it easy for me to stay on track and continue on my new lifestyle. She understands that body has a rhythm of its own (especially when you're over 40) and that we must respect that without being attached to linear progress.

As a therapist I know that healing isn't cheap. It takes time, energy, ego, relationships and money and I was and still am determined to use all the resources that I have for my transformation.

Up to this moment I'm 24cm down from my chest, waist and hips  since the day that I've started, and at my lowest weight for the last 3 years.

Finally, I want to say "thank you" for everything that I've learned from you including how to better take care of myself.
