This high protein strawberry cream of rice bowl is perfect for a quick pre-workout meal, post-workout breakfast, or simple high protein snack when you want something sweet, comforting and filling.
If you cannot find traditional cream of rice, rice flour is one of the best alternatives, especially if you are in Australia where cream of rice can be harder to source.
Rice flour creates a similar smooth, creamy texture when mixed with hot water and works beautifully as a base for a protein-packed breakfast bowl. Just add the hot water gradually and stir well until you reach your preferred consistency.
You can swap the macadamia nut butter for almond butter or peanut butter depending on what you have available.
This recipe is simple, fast, macro-friendly and easy to customise, making it a great option for anyone looking for a high protein breakfast without needing oats, eggs, or complicated ingredients.

- Add the rice flour and cinnamon to a bowl.
- Slowly pour in small amounts of recently boiled water, stirring well as you go, until the mixture reaches your desired texture.
- Mix through the vanilla protein powder.
- Add a little more boiled water if needed, stirring again until the consistency is smooth and creamy.
- Slice the strawberries and add them on top.
- Drizzle over the melted macadamia nut butter.
- Serve warm.
Notes
You can use cream of rice instead of rice flour, but if you are in Australia, rice flour is usually the best option to use.
To melt the macadamia nut butter, place it in the microwave for around 30 seconds. You can also use almond butter or peanut butter if preferred.
