Recipe: Banana Buzz Smoothie

If you find that you get seasonal allergies it's a great idea to include immune-boosting ingredients into your foods in a way that you don't really notice.

We’re going to include some local raw honey in this smoothie, and also some be pollen, which is great for helping fight off cold and flu viruses, and increasing your energy. Research has shown that bee pollen may reduce the severity and onset of allergies.

The pollen is basically just a pollen ball which has been packed by worker honeybees into an edible form and then it's collected from the hives. With the bee pollen you want to be careful, particularly if you have allergies to bees. If you haven't use the pollen before just start by using a few granules at a time and building up a tolerance to it.
