15 Low Sugar Dessert Recipes To Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

Are you looking for dessert recipes that taste amazing, but without a heap of sugar added?

When you have a sweet tooth, it can be tough to keep your sugar intake low. But I don’t believe you should have to give up dessert just to hit your macros – that’s why I’ve pulled together my favourite low sugar dessert recipes to share with you.

1 - Protein Macadamia Slice

It might look simple, but this protein macadamia slice tastes divine! Who doesn’t love the combination of warm, cozy macadamia nut butter drizzled with some smooth dark chocolate.

Enjoy as a snack or dessert. PS – if you want to drop the sugar content even further, opt for sugar-free maple syrup as the sweetener.

2 - Salted Caramel Cheesecakes

Cheesecake is one of the most delicious desserts around, but it does tend to be high in sugar. That’s why I created these indulgent Salted Caramel Cheesecakes.

Each cheesecake is perfectly portioned out, which also makes them an ideal choice if you want to bring along a sweet treat to share with friends.

3 - Quinoa Crackles

This one took me right back to my childhood when chocolate crackles were a must at any party! I like to think of this as the mysterious, sophisticated aunty version.

The best part is that the sugar content is low, so you won’t sugar-crash or throw tantrums like we used to after going to a friend’s birthday party!

4 - LCHF Strawberry Shortcakes

It’s time to get baking with this LCHF-friendly strawberry shortcake recipe! Not only is this low in sugar, it also contains a decent serving of protein. That means you can satisfy your sweet tooth and feel fuller for longer.

5 - Single Serve Gooey Choc Mud Cake

Looking for a dessert for one recipe? This mug cake is rich, delicious, and also packed with protein and fibre. It’s a favourite with my Premium Coaching clients!

6 - Lemon Poppy Seed Mug Cake

Another quick and easy one-serve dessert is this Lemon Poppy Seed Mug Cake. It’s fluffy, light and has just 6g of sugar.

If you want a gluten-free version, switch the flour for your gluten-free flour of choice.

7 - Raspberry Slice

When it comes to low sugar recipes, I’m a big fan of using naturally sweet wholefoods to add sweetness. This slice has dates, raspberries and pears that are rich in fibre and antioxidants.

This stores in the fridge for 3-4 days, so you can enjoy it every night!

8 - Balancing Slice

Yes, you can enjoy dessert even if you are following a ketogenic diet!

I created this slice back when I was on a ketogenic diet to address my PCOS symptoms. It contains 6g of net carbs, making it a great keto-friendly dessert option. If you’re vegan, this one is also vegan and vegetarian friendly.

8 - Keto Fudge Slice

Another keto-friendly option is this scrumptious Keto Fudge. The trick is to use a sugar-free maple syrup, which you’ll usually find at your local supermarket. You might even like to serve it with a drizzle of cream or coconut cream for some extra indulgence.

10 - Choc Coconut Bark

This one ticks all of the boxes – it’s low sugar, keto-friendly, super easy to prep, and you can make it in a big batch to cover the whole week!

My favourite part about this is how simple it is, as it only requires 3 ingredients. But if you like, you can also get creative and sub in your favourite nut, seed or freeze-dried fruit.

11 - Reduced-Carb Lemon Tart

With just 8g net carbs and 3g sugar, this is another keto-friendly dessert option to try. I love serving it with some shredded coconut sprinkled over the top.

12 - Chia Seed Snack

This looks and tastes like a dessert you’d be served at a restaurant, but it’s easy to make. Chia seeds are packed full of fibre, so they will keep you full until breakfast time rolls around.

If you want to reduce the sugar further and make this keto-friendly, switch the maple syrup to a sugar-free version. You can also sub in your favourite berry.

13 - Lemon Cream Cupcakes

Cupcakes are great at any time of day, but they are a great dessert because they are pre-made and pre-portioned for you. If you’re looking for a light fluffy cupcake without a tonne of sugar, you’ll want to give these Lemon Cream Cupcakes a go.

14 - Coconut + Almond Fat Bombs

If you’ve never heard of the term ‘fat bomb’, don’t be put off by the name – all it means is that it’s like a bliss ball that contains a good amount of healthy fats. This keto-friendly recipe uses nutritious ingredients to create a delicious sweet treat you can enjoy at any time of day.

15 - Strawberry Protein Bars

A protein-rich dessert means that you can enjoy a sweet treat and still hit your macro goals. If that sounds like what you need, give my Strawberry Protein Bars a whirl. Each serve contains 8g of protein and only 4.5g of sugar.
